Seller's Description:
A NOTE TO MY BIDDERS: I will NOT contact you either during or after this auction to offer you the gun at a reduced price. Please consider any such contact as a scam attempt...don't get taken!NO RESERVE!! Here's an important gun for the Parker aficionado or collector of fine American doubles. This shotgun comes directly to me from the family of the original owner and it has never been in collector's hands. This is a Parker 12-gauge "DHE" Hammerless Side-by-Side. It features extensive engraving, automatic ejectors, "Titanic" fluid steel barrels, and a Parker Single-Selective-Trigger. There are two barrels with forearms, both numbered to the gun. The first set of barrels measure 32" in length and are choked Full and Full. The second set of barrels appear to have been shortened (the matting runs past the end of the rib at the muzzle), measure 26" in length, and are choked Cyl/Cyl. There is a factory letter included which confirms that the gun was shipped as a 12-gauge DHE with 32" barrel. The letter also indicates that the Jostam buttpad is factory original and the stock measurements are original with a 14" LOP, 1-5/8" D@C and 2-1/4" D@H. The stock shield was factory engraved with the initials "RVL". It should be noted that while this shotgun is equipped with a Parker Single-Selective-Trigger, it was not originally shipped with this feature as the SST was not yet available from Parker in 1919 when this gun was manufactured. Neither are the extra set of barrels mentioned in the factory letter so it is reasonable to assume that the owner returned the gun to Parker for the extra barrels and the SST as some point. Overall condition is very nice with about 30% original case colors still remaining on the frame. The barrels both retain almost all of the original blue finish. There is no rust or pitting on any of the metal however there are a couple of dings across the rib on the shorter barrels. The wood is in excellent condition for the most part. There are no cracks or chips in the butt or forearm of the longer barrels. There forend numbered to the short barrels has a chip missing from the underside of the wood at the rearmost part. None of the wood has been sanded or refinished and the wood retains almost all of the original varnish. The mechanics are in good working order and the ejectors and SST work well. The bores in all barrels are bright without pitting. This shotgun has been hunted but remains in excellent overall condition. It was originally shipped here to Oregon in 1919 and has been with the original owner's family since new and has never been out of the State! A Great Gun and quite an unusual find! Buyer pays $35.00 shipping. Your C&R License is acceptable for transfer. SORRY, BUT I CANNOT END ANY
