Seller's Description: Custom Match Set 1911 Pistol & M1A Rifle - Both Serial #1 Up for auction we have a very special pair of firearms offered by Springfield Armory for the benefit of the National Rifle Association: a matched set of Serial #1s, both an M1A and 1911. From the February 2008 Issue of American Rifleman: Springfield Armory has pledged $1 million to NRA’s new Competitive Shooting & National Championships Endowment to ensure the future of competitive shooting. The Illinois firm plans to raise some of the funds by donating a significant portion of the proceeds from the sale of 500 engraved, limited-edition versions of two stalwarts on the line at the National Matches that commemorate the 100th anniversary of the NRA National Matches at Camp Perry. The guns are an M1911A1 and an M1A. Springfield’s highly polished stainless steel .45 ACP M1911A1 has dovetailed adjustable sights with a click-adjustable rear and an undercut front dovetail. The gun comes in a case, has a speed trigger and custom cocobolo stocks with the NRA logo. The slide’s left reads “100th Anniversary Camp Perry National Matches 1907-2007,” and the dustcover bears the gun’s number.
