From a collection of rare old original 1700s dated Dutch bronze "One Duit"
coins. The size of a thin US nickel, with large "VOC" letters. "VEREENIGDE OOSTINDISCHE COMPAGNIE" = Dutch East India Company. With clear 1700s date on front. Back side has a shield + crown. These coins traded around the world throughout the 1700s. Many used here in America. ALL are clearly dated before 1799, + would fit well in an early America display. I can mount for you in see thru holder, identified. They belong in any American historical collection, + have excellent educational value for teachers+ students. All foreign coins were still legal tender + used in America until the Law of 1857. The 1st US Mint did not open til 1793, + could not supply enough coins for well into the 1800s.
