Seller's Description:
SUPER SCARCE. *UPDATE* I have had a gentleman inform me this shotgun came from
Camp Mabry in Texas. It was used by either the security people there or the
Texas State Guard, NOT the National Guard. The id tag on the bottom is a state
issued id. Take a look at the blue book of gun values in the trench/riot gun
section to see what some of these are going for. This auction is for a
commercial variation of the Winchester model 1200 in 12 gauge riot
configuration. Gun is super sharp. I have posted
plenty of pics for your review. Serial number is 425xxx which puts the mfg date
around 1969. There is a lot of secrecy around these guns. I have talked with
blue book, Winchester and Buffalo Bill Historical and cannot get a definite
answer. This shotgun was est. to be mfg. around 1969. The serial numbers
started about 100,000 around 1964 and went to about 950,000 in around 1974. So,
we did some simple math and figured this was mfg. about 1969. Apparently there
is a lot of secrecy that surrounds these years of mfg. you cannot even get a
definite date of mfg. from Winchester. Gun is super rare! This is a fine
looking riot shotgun that seems to work very good. (SEE UPADTE ABOVE)It
probably was a sale to a
prison, law enforcement agency or government agency needing riot config guns.
There is no U.S. markings so we know it wasn't military. However if you look
close at the pics you can see an official looking inventory Number on the
bottom of the pistol grip. Barrel is 18 inches. You will have to ask me
questions if you want more info. This is one of those rare ones that make
collecting fun and intereting. Please inspect photo and ask questions prior to
bidding. Guns are sold "AS IS". These are previously owned. This will need an
FFL. No exceptions. Most gun shops or pawnbrokers will transfer to you for a
small fee. Texas residents add 8.25% sales tax. Add $30 shipping and
insurance. Alaska is $50 shipping. Sorry, No Hawaii and No out of country
buyers. Get it checked out before firing. Certified funds ship next day.
Personal checks after they clear. Make sure you include auction number with
payment. Paypal is accepted just add 3% to the winning bid amount. Good Luck!
