Thread Title: "PHOTO I.D NOW REQUIRED"
I was talking with my F.F.L. dealer yesterday .

A.T.F. had looked at his records and informed him of a new requirement .

Any time he get's a firearm in for someone there HAS to be an F.F.L. / C&R, if applicable with the gun . If the gun is shipped from a non-license holder a PHOTO I.D. MUST be in package .

His instructions from A.T.F. were if license or photo I.D. did not come in package , he was to return to sender .He called A.T.F. and confirmed what he was told , but has received nothing in writing from them .

So if I sell a gun (I have no FFL) and am mailing it to a dealer, I need to photocopy my O.L. and send it with the gun?

That is the way my dealer was told Argentine . I am in the same boat with no license .

I plan on scanning my drivers license and mark through the S.S. # . I f there is doubt I will send a copy of my F.F.L. dealers license , but that causes me a 40 mile round trip and him more paperwork .

I bet you see a lot of non dealers start tradeing with out swapping info in the near future. and a lot of out the back door deals with non regitard guns at gunshows too. I bet people will start brakeing the law to keep out of the ATF's sights and risk 10 yrs to have a small collection. And not turn guns in thts nonserial # or reg in a log book. when asked too like those in cal.

my real valuable guns and collection and nonserial numberd guns i have in a safe not at my house. And when a guy asked me at the gun show if i collected guns i told him no.

I do not see anything yet on the ATF web site. Maybe true and maybe not.

All I know is ; I have a lot of confidence in my F.F.L. holder and he double checked and got the same answer twice . But he has nothing in writeing .

Cyro ; I think I'll use the Chow . HE would scare the horns off a Billy Goat .L.O.L.

Trying to get ANYTHING in writing from anyone in government is difficult, at best. They sure do forget who they work for right quick, don't they? Too bad the people don't get to vote on every government worker's pay rates, huh?

Ladies and Gentlemen; There is light at the end of the tunnel and it is not the headlight of a train coming at us. Clarence Thomas has been begging for a Amendment Two case and he sees Amendment Two like John Ashcroft did. Just as it was written and as Thomas Jefferson defined it. With the new justices and if Ruth Bader Ginsburg retires, there will be not enough justices on the United States Supreme Court who legislate from the bench to keep any gun laws Constitutional. If you will remember Amendment Two states that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Well that means that there can be no rules and regulations what so ever on arms. So all gun laws are Unconstitutional. Even depriving convicted felons of the right to keep and bear arms or taxing the possession of machine guns. Before, The National Firearms Act of 1934, machine guns were legal to possess and the country did not break out in open war. Like all guns, criminals abuse the right to possess them like they did with all guns. Criminals also abused the right to possess and use motor vehicles. That however represents less then 2 people out of 1000. So making such things illegal to possess only gives these less then 2 people out of 1000 a huge advantage over the rest of us. The media has purposely failed to note the crime drop where the shall issue laws have been instituted and a lot of honest citizens are going armed. Vermont seems to get along just fine with no gun laws what so ever. So what happens to the BATF when the laws they were set up to enforce are declared Unconstitutional? If a Republican President is elected in 2008 and the Republicans retain control of the congress in 2006 you can bet it will happen!

You might be surprised how many of us work for Uncle or the Governor. We aren't all bad, although few of us can do too many one-shot-and-they-never-move-agains...
